A musician with excellent musical qualifications and experience of working
with amateur and professional musicians at the highest level.
Experience of training and conducting amateur orchestras with differing
levels of experience so rehearsals are motivating and enjoyable to all.
Wide knowledge of the orchestral repertoire.
Ability to work productively with the Orchestras committee to plan
and prepare exciting and enjoyable future concerts.
Ability to inspire and excite the Orchestra to tackle unfamiliar and
challenging music.
Be responsible for the development of musical standards of the Orchestra.
To ensure that the highest possible musical standards are achieved both
at rehearsals and concerts, consistent with the Orchestras musical and
financial resources
Take all rehearsals on a Wednesday evening during School term and undertake
additional rehearsals were necessary.
Conduct all concerts in the season currently 6.
To make recommendation to the Committee for the engagement of soloists.
To advise and assist the committee in the management of the Orchestras
affairs.
Provide a written schedule at the start of each concert season to include
sectional rehearsals.
Plan the programme for future seasons in collaboration with the committee.
